Katrinaby jpochardComment: Nice pose and framing......wonder how it would look with the b/g out of focus. |

.....checking the calculations.by micluinenburgComment: Really like the concept in this shot. Would love to see how it would have worked in b/w, for me when I'm looking at it I'm seeing more the colour, not the action. Image could have been a little larger using the full 640pixels/150 kbs allowed. Good, creative idea! |

Old schoolby Hordur AceComment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
First impressions ~ this really does look like a shot from the 50's. It's got that lovely gritty feeling to it.
Composition ~ I like the composition with the group on one side as they are. Did very well only getting one person with eyes shut! The leading line of power poles leading to the tower works well. The sky's a bit murky, lacking in highlights/drama. I'm not a dodge/burn expert but feel it could have been worth working in this area and would have added a whole different feel to the image.
Can't really comment on your editing as you haven't told me what you did, if you get a time when uploading your challenge entries it's really helpful putting your editing steps in the description. I would love to have seen this shot with the full 150 kbs, it could well have added a vibrancy to the people in the shot.
Certainly meets the challenge well, good work!
I look forward to seeing more of your work, have fun with the challenges.
regards
sue

Shadowlightby RasmusComment: Great first entry!! There's something about this shot that really draws me in. For me it's slightly too closely cropped on the left of the candle. Good work! |
