Brownby albc28Comment: Not exactly a stumper. A fine workmanlike image showing mastery of your camera, editing software, and a good eye. Well done. |

Coilby ravins4Comment: A stumper, so meets the challenge. A fine abstract which I consider wall-worthy. Well done. |

What Lurketh Here?by jomariComment: A stumper, so meets the challenge. Brilliant abstract. Looks like an ultramodern quilt design. I like the diagonal quadrants. Not normally a border fan but I like this. |

Colourby margetts91Comment: Not exactly a stumper but I like it. Colors are brilliant. DOF might be a little shallow but I'm sure it was purposeful. |

Liberty Rising (US Silver Dollar)by Dr.ConfuserComment: Originally posted by FocusPoint: Hello from Critique Club :)
Dr. Confuser seems like confused himself this time, or you were working on this photo while doing some upside down yoga!? :)
Advance editing lets you to clean the scratch on this lady's face, and actually basic editing even lets you rotate images, which you should be rotating this picture to earn few more votes... did you protest DPC or something LOL
Good macro photo. Sharp, very nice, I really love the quality of it, I like the crop, very simple and clean (well, besides the scratch on her face)
You got 5.5 because of the subject matter and the quality of this photo. If you didn't do yoga, you probably would get around 5.8 and maybe 6. who knows.
I looked at your page, and nice work you have there. You do also have lots of practice, but you must check out the previous winners and get some examples and try to replicate those just for study purpose. You are here for a long time, a ribbon long due for you, so go get one :)
Just don't do head-down yoga and photography same time LOL
Good luck

Thanks for the thoughtful critique, I appreciate it. So you know, I shoot for me and not really for ribbons or popular acclaim. In this particular case, I was thinking about the financial crisis and the battering the dollar has taken and there is an element of political commentary in the photo. The orientation was purposeful and preserving the scars on Liberty was purposeful. At least PhotoInterest got the irony. Message edited by author 2008-11-23 12:53:34. |

Number oneby GlanniComment: A stumper, so meets the challenge. I like that I can't figure this out. Well done. Good technicals but focus could be a little stronger. |

Do Not Touchby treimeeComment: A stumper, so meets the challenge. I like the gradient from dark to light. DOF is interesting. but the photo overall doesn't hold me. |
