Swimming Breakby izadoodleComment: Gee, nobody commented on this image? Well, shucks.
At first I thought this image was nothing special: a camera bag on a diving board. So what?
But then I saw the floating camera. Very nice touch--something that the speed voters may have missed.
I gave this a 6. I definitely think it deserved better than the score it got. |

no titleby MichaelCComment: The charisma and charm of her body language with the broom suddenly swept over him, and he was lost in a fit of passion.
"Will you marry me?" he implored. "I need you so badly, and I realized it so suddenly, I didn't even have time to kneel. Or put my book down. Will you be mine?"
"I don't know," she said. "Let me finish sweeping first." |

Ribbon Dreamsby Art RoflmaoComment: Ya know, I gave it a 7. By the time your image came up for me in voting, I'd seen too many of the "cute bokeh cutout" pictures already, but yours was different (most notably in that it was well executed). I'd have liked softer light and better focus on the model, but you still got creativity and execution points from me. |

Underglow by androgeusComment: Hey, congrats on the yellow for your yellow-bokeh-riffic image! This is a very cool shot that deserves to be on the front page. |

Mt. Garfield's Windowby JokersSoulComment: Great choice of subject for this challenge, and nicely framed. You've done a lovely job of bringing out the full tonal range, and the effect is striking. As some voters suggested, you might have toned it down a bit, but that's largely a matter of taste.
In the realm of constructive criticism, I have a couple of things to offer perhaps for next time:
- The focus looks a little soft. I don't know if this was intentional, but I see that "Sharpen" is in your PP notes. Do you ever use Unsharp Mask? I find it does a much better job about 99% of the time. Try a radius of .3 to .5 pixels with a threshold of 0.
- The white lines on the cinema-style border are a bit bright. A more neutral gray would have had the same effect without drawing the eye out of the frame.
A solid entry in a difficult challenge! Looking forward to seeing more landscapes from you. |

I am in my paradiseby william88Comment: I'm belatedly commenting to say how happy I am to see this on the front page. Fabulous work with a well-deserved ribbon. In my book, it really couldn't be better. |
