It was bold of you to submit something so heavily worked to this challenge. I still like the idea and the colors. If you could have gotten the colors fields to be even instead of grainy, this would look really cool. Maybe some combination of blur, cutout filter, and noise removal? I dunno. good luck with the next challenge.

i like the textures in this picture, and the colors and tones of the rose. but a photo like this needs strong lines in it. look at the most dominant lines in the picture--where do they lead? out of the frame, or nowhere. try to arrange a still life such as this so that the strong lines point inward, toward your intended focal point.

the harsh patterns of highlight and shadow make this image a difficult one to read well. you'd probably have had better luck with this shot if you'd taken it later in the day, when the light comes from a lower angle.

the inclusion of so much hat seems arbitrary, and the shadow in the upper right pulls the eye strongly. i'm thinking a 3/4 angle on this girl would be nice to see.

really a nice glow. I like the distinctly different colors that the light causes the leaves to assume. high saturation works well. some noise reduction software would have helped even out the blue background.

I really like the low angle you took this from. the inclusion of a strip of pavement really helps. colors are a bit too muted for me... looks like there's a blue cast to this photo, which if fixed could improve its impact.

cluttered background, crop of rim close to the edge, chunk of yellow stripe make this photo's composition appear rather awkward
