the color you have achieved in the water is glorious. I want a box full of crayons with that whole range of blues.

this whole picture is just great... the sharpness throughout and the boldly defined spots of color accentuate the dynamic composition and full tonal range with a casual resonance of visual power.

I liked it at first glance, for the grand forms and textures; it has an epic look to it. And I liked it on reflection as well, for the wealth of interesting detail that rewards the closer inspection. Best 1/10 sec work I've seen!

Thank you - I really feel like I got lucky with this one. What really gets me is that there are views like this all over the place in scenic parts of the country--these brilliant compositions that exist for only a flash as you fly by on the road. *Blink* and you're past it. I had little idea what I was capturing at the time; I just clicked the shutter, and found this when I came home.

By way of illustration - all the following pictures were taken in succession, pointing the camera pretty much straight out the window -

This is the top of the heap of the several Superman shots. The color, lighting, and exposure are all excellent, and the action being carried out in this photo lends it a lot of strength and dynamism. (Hah, I just said an image of Superman has strength.) I snickered a little bit when I noticed the wedding band - nice touch to ground this picture in reality and remind us that it's still a fantasy.

A well-considered 9 from me.

very cool effect! the expression on your model's face is perfect. I'm giving this an 8 because it does several things well - it's conceptually very strong, well titled, clearly linked to the challenge, and technically well executed. The only reason I'm not scoring this higher is the background - you don't need me to tell you what's wrong with it. Hanging the sheet farther behind your model if you don't want to use a wider aperture is the best way to go. Also, using more than one light (maybe one top, one bottom) can help minimize shadows.

good luck in the final rankings!
