Miami's Backyardby yakatmeComment: this shot is awesome, but ai! that red kite at the top is distracting. could you clone it farther down into the frame or something? it's a great picture and that kite has an important compositional function, it's just running into the border in a big bad nasty way. |

John1small.jpgby TallblokeComment: I prefer the color version, I think. I'm thinking it would be really nice to see this same photo with the saturation reduced to, say, 50% in the background. |

Wahkeena Fallsby DrAchooComment: I have a general bias against waterfall shots the same way that some people have against people in their landscapes - but I like this one. The shape of the water is great. I'd actually be really interested in seeing a differently processed version of this, with the same softness in the water but a sharp focus on the surrounding moss. Pretty please :) |

Battle for Sornaby RikkiComment: wow, this one came out great. so many wind up looking cluttered, but this one really works. |

Grainy B&Wby JHComment: this is a really great idea. it got voted way lower than it deserved. I think that the main improvement that could be made is the angle - think about the lines in the shot. as this is, all the lines are pretty much parallel, heading out of the shot. from a lower angle, the lines would converge to a point within the composition. try to use the lines to keep the viewer's eye within the frame. |
