Although I generally don't like partially desaturated images, this is beautiful and moving. The coloration is like an old tinted photo, and it seems to glow. The purple hue of the foreground perfectly harmonizes with girl's purple shirt. Altogether lovely.

Terrific dramatic choreography. The pose combining two people into a single bird is inventive and creatively brought to fruition. The hands as talons is a wonderful touch. The background is appropriately moody. The branch as foreground is a curious choice, in my opinion. But this is a fine black and white image.

Great magical feel to this ethereal image. I love how the fireflies seem to be the animate spirits of the white flowers. The mythical ethos is furthered by the woman/goddess releasing the fireflies from a jar. Why were they in a jar in the first place? Just curious. Also, personally, I don't understand the forward purple on the tree. These are minor quibbles. This is far and away my favorite in the challenge.

Crisp lines, graphically strong and great color combination, but I'm curious about what this structure is. I know it's vertical, but you can imagine it to be an airplane flying above the clouds.

Dramatically evocative. How this reflection is acquired is beyond me, but it's so startling and enjoyable that it becomes unnecessary to fathom. What an unusual image, and I happen to like it a lot.
