Once Usefulby GolferDDSComment: Scruffy subject presented forthrightly. Gives off a sad feeling of being unloved. Curious how the window is boarded up from within, suggesting inner turmoil. Guess I'm reading a lot into this, but that goes to show that the image is provocative. |

Slaughterhouse Ghostby PangurbanComment: After all the carnage light pours in and almost flushes out the ghosts, but for those who remember. Besides the philosophical give and take, I like the diagonal lines and the movement they engender. Nice composition. |

The witch moved out a few years agoby primabarbaraComment: The title hints at a dark past, and now the image seems spookier. The wrought iron fence is a good touch, a measure of attempted safety. Now the peaked roof starts to resemble a witch's hat. The processing furthers the mood. Well realized. |

Forgotten colorsby nygoldComment: It's like this abandoned structure is being reborn, or at least repurposed. The balance between the walls, floor and ceiling is nicely handled. I think the window secures the entire image, opening up to the world outside and allowing the sunlight to pour in. |

Doorby SEGComment: A pretty patch of dilapidation. It's come what may, and it's come together quite nicely. I admire your eye. The colors are wonderful, especially the door, which juts out in brightness. Additionally, I'm fond of rust. |

Bound and Brokenby markwileyComment: Not only abandoned but forbidden, as per the rope and signs. And so the somber tint handily furthers the point. What I really like about this image is the composition of squares and (other) rectangles comprising the entry. It looks like a quilt that's anything but gay. But it brings a bit of order to the scene. |

The Little House that Criedby franktheyankComment: This house has been through a lot, and now comes a storm - or at least ominous clouds - with its charged, coiled light. It's a lovely, detailed, textured study, subtly framed by sky and flora. The terrific title brings so much feeling to the photo, feeling that's already there but that's now amplified in poignancy. Very strong. |

Burrow Mump by P-A-U-LComment: The backwards-leaning perspective lends a sense of sphinx-like majesty. Even as it succumbs to age it proudly surveys its realm. The composition is nicely balanced. The tint harmonizes with the mood.
I looked up Burrow Mump in Google images and prefer your depiction to any one shown there. |

Along the riverby SistoComment: A modest gem. The box-like structure is part of the image but not in a forward, aggressive manner. It's almost subsumed by its delicate, fairy tale setting. The day itself is fresh and heartfelt. The colors are marvelous -- greens, blue, salmon and bright red.
Pity about that wire, though. |

if you think it's creepy outside...by mefnjComment: Certainly creepy, and that tender glow only ups the ante. The perspective is most engaging. I really like the delicate blues. Unusual and impressive. |
