This could be counted plain, but it's an understated marvel of everyday impressionism. The horizontal bands of color and texture are soothing and quietly joyful. I feel these bands to be welcoming arms. So lovely.

Fascinating, evocative, moving. With regard to the title, the image is ambiguous and multi-leveled, no pun intended. Fending off nightmares, but the hand is highly translucent. Is it not possible or must we look at them if they are to be resolved and transcended. The background shapes and textures handsomely set off the foreground image.
