Strangerd in the nightby Alex_PetriniComment: Evocative image, dark with a knife blade of light. I find it rather oppressive, but that's not to take away from it's power and worth. Well done. |

Stories We Could Tellby bjoernComment: A nice candid shot of these three women behind a fence. It captures their individualities well. There is this sense of a Greek chorus telling a story, setting up the background of the swirling world. There's a certain tension here, as I wonder if the woman on the left is participating or observing. |

You don't know how it feels to be me by JudiComment: A remarkable image that is both mysterious and explicit. What a wonderful setting for this evocative figure. I really don't even know if this is exultation or pain. To use the word a second time, a remarkable achievement. |

Nightwatchmanby whiteroomComment: Beautiful image, beautiful processing, beautifully tender. A garden of tone and emotion.
Can't help but evoke elephants' horrible slaughter in pursuit of these very tusks for art, trinkets and oriental potions. Sorry to yoke these two sentences together when what I really want to do is celebrate this image and this particular elephant.
By far my favorite image in this challenge. |

Free Fallin'by pgirish007Comment: A nice waterfall image. What I especially appreciate is the generous foreground that allows the story freedom to develop. It's one thing to fall; it's important, too, to understand what's downriver. The focus, here, on the rock and beautiful leaves affords reassurance and hope. |

American Girlby PompouspeteComment: A lovely, distinctive and stylized portrait. I really like the flow of the line along her arm, hand and face, an interesting visual exploration. The colors of her clothing are nicely extended in the blush of her skin, her lips and fingernails. |

And I'm free, free fallin'by markwileyComment: A consummate depiction of these lyrics. Intricate, precise, draws the eye right to the dazzling bottom and center -- which actually seems to be the top, lit like an epiphany. I like how the left corner, extending across the bottom right, is very dark, providing a visual anchor, a platform from which to leap. |

Runaway Trainsby snafflesComment: An incredible image and memorial to Tom. I love how intent and peaceful he looks sitting at the head of all that power and excitement. The florid colors are handled with admirable restraint and greatly contribute to the overall intensity. A for sure ribbon winner. |
