He's alive, in the pleasant glow of wine, perhaps not the first glass. She's stone, sober and aloof. Interesting contrast that serves to heighten his humanity and vitality, a kind of tempus fugit moment. The composition is balanced visually and also in that the left side is lush (please, no pun intended) and warm, the right is sterile. Nice grain. Nice image.
