emotionby PennyStreetComment: Were two eyes ever more giving to each other than these? Beautiful image. I didn't comment on this challenge, but was one of your 8s. The subways are truly a cornucopia of opportunities, photographic and otherwise, like conservation, observation and wonder. You're a fine chronicler of this world.

butterflyby TiberiusComment: Lovely butterfly picture. The spread wings are hypnotically disorienting. The bokeh is quite harmonious with the butterfly and flowering plant. Terrific focus. |

Big Redby WarbyComment: Nice framing, a good example of the strength of the rule of thirds. Handsome animal, wonderful bokeh. |

Autumnby MonaComment: Nice feel of being in a world apart, a peaceful Shangri-la, a place to meditate. It's lush and verdant, who wouldn't want to be here? The composition fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, by the way gently touching on the thirds. Lovely image. |

Painting the sunriseby P-A-U-LComment: As the artist is immersed in his work, we're immersed in the scene, even to feeling the chill in the air. Also, is he painting a picture of the sunrise or is he, via his canvas, actually painting the sunrise onto a blank canvas of sky? That's my question. Intriguing image. |

the important oneby herfotomanComment: Mysteriously eye-catching. What's it for, why's it there? And on that nicely textured slab of concrete or limestone or something. Engaging. |

Threeby bjoernComment: I like the dainty finesse of these purple flowers on their stalks. Those few pixels of spider silk flowing from the left cluster inward ground the image. |

end of seasonby tvsometimeComment: Really captures the mood of the title. Very interesting perspective, with the great majority of the action playing out in a rather narrow strip above the broad dark band. The pose of the woman on the stool is evocative and transitional, as if she's thinking, "I'm outta here." Very fine black and white. |
