thank youby jmritzComment: I can't put into words the mood that this elliptical image elicits in me, but I find it very moving. That's it. Thank you. |

Twirlby whiteroomComment: A most lovely image. On a cursory glance it seems simple, but in rushes a veritable bounty of textures, tones and planes supporting a mood of quiet happiness. The composition is very interesting, a fullness of objects and motion on the right balanced by the bright expanse on the left, which draws the eye back across the scene. The wing chair by the window calls for an essay on its own. The girl is tenderly and beautifully portrayed. Has she tossed off her sandals? We can almost feel the fabric of the rug beneath her feet. |

Understated Eleganceby PascalComment: It is understated and elegant, also shimmering and resplendent. It's also perfectly composed so as to highlight the silver/white reflections against the sky in a manner reminiscent of fountains. The delicate tracery of the tree branches is interwoven into the background, further enhancing the sumptuous whole. A joyful image. |

multitaskingby tvsometimeComment: Wow, this is impressive multitasking, especially since I suspect she's holding her place on a unicycle. It's a sharply captured moment that is perfect for the challenge. The picture of the calmly posed woman to the right is a great counterpoint to the woman on the left, and breaks the image wide open, for now there's a story and philosophic overtones to ponder. Fine photo. |

Baby Gatorby PhocalComment: Remarkable study of this baby alligator, crisp, delicate and intimate. Beyond the understatement of the minimal portrayal, its head barely cresting above the water, is the sense that he/she may be so newly born that what looks like filmy vegetation to the left could even be the tatters of the egg sack from which it's just emerged. The whipped cream, sprinkles and cherry is the incredible reflection of what I take to be water, trees and sky in this little fellow's eye. This lifts the image, excellent as it already is, into a higher realm of wonder, enchantment and epiphany. |

Groucho by SistoComment: My comment below elicited a note from Sisto explaining that the artwork in his entry was, in fact, his own. It was done with a graphic pen on a graphic tablet and then overlaid on the gate. I responded,
Then I'm in the wrong and was unable to recognize and realize that your talent is being showcased in your image. Please accept my apologies for my mistake, and I regret and am embarrassed by my wrong assumption. Your English is fine and you understood that I was saying that I thought your image was a copy of another person's artwork. I hope that I don't make this mistake again in commenting on other images.
It's a good lesson to be careful of one's (my) assumptions.
When the challenge is over and presented to us all I will express my apology in the post-challenge comment box.
Thank you for writing to me.
All my best,
Rich
Luckily other voters were not so shortsighted. Thank you for your kind response to my apology,
Congratulations on winning the red ribbon, Sisto, and all the others that are sure to follow. |

Humour Genius tooby MonaComment: Unless the kid is pointing at the Marx Brothers, this is a bridge too far. Though it's always a pleasure to see the photo portrayed. |

Groucho by SistoComment: Can't quite decide if that strip and box of green is sufficient to not decry the image as just a picture of someone else's artwork. It does let life through. I guess I'll give the photographer the benefit of the doubt - my conferral, of course, is of no import beyond my own musing. |
