Great cat for a dark background, striking and almost discordant. Amazing whiskers. I had it rated higher but lowered it a notch because of the blown out blacks of the fur. If that's unfair, sorry. Orange eyes that seize you deep inside. Middle name suggestion: Snidely.

Interesting perspective. It seems a prison-like setting, and maybe the contrast with their natural innocence is intentional. They also appear to be floating free of gravity. It's a fascinating and thought-provoking image.

Lovely portrait nicely focused on the eyes. I like the composition of the cat while thinking that the white portion of the background is slightly jarring, but what we'd like and what we have cannot be argued. Black and white well serves these middle tones. The expression is winning.

All the entries celebrate our appreciation of cats. This is the only entry that shows their interaction with a person. It beautifully, touchingly actually shows our appreciation, and maybe even a cat's appreciation of us. Can't really know what the cat is feeling, but as the woman has her connection, and quite likely love, the whole is so much greater than the sum of the parts. The tenderness is captivating.
