pondby GeorgesBogaertComment: Lovely pattern. I happen to prefer, subjectively of course, the un-sunlit portion of the image, and without the blurred leaves in the lower left. For the sake of purity -- wink. |

fighting fishby AbraComment: Way cool. The subtlety and movement are absorbing. Are the bright red, white and blues part of the scene or pulled up afterwards? They both add and subtract, so I can't decide what I feel about them. No matter, your vision and image. |

swimby jmritzComment: This looks very much an abstract take on a stand of bamboo, and I like it a lot. That said, I therefore wish (selfishly) that the lower left black triangle weren't there. |

If the Heavens ever did speak She is the last true mouthpiece by JulietNNComment: Terrific photo, Juliet. Congratulations on receiving a well-deserved blue ribbon. I'm glad you were able to feature this mysterious church, which you've previously talked about as well as giving us some of its fabled background. You're a fine chronicler of the southwest. Your recent entry in Pathways II, "Path of Rosa", is also superb and was, by the way, my favorite entry in that challenge. The well-known magazine Arizona Highways features a "Photo of the Day", and these images would look great in the company of the other beautiful shots they publish. |

optionsby PennyStreetComment: Wonderful sense of urban vibrancy, but in a serene rather than a hectic manner. Works well in black and white, and the grain is also appealing. I was one of your 7s. |

bamboo acrobaticsby krnodilComment: Really lovely. This a symphony, an entire world. The colors are gorgeous, the focus sublime. That one antenna is in focus and one is less so is curiously appealing. On closer perusal after the challenge is over I wish I had given this a 9 rather than a 6. Sorry. Whenever I under-appreciate an image, as I did here, I'm disappointed in myself. |

Rainy Nightby aznymComment: Way to go, Aznym! This was my personal favorite of the challenge. Aside from the wonderful subject in focus, who knew that a blurred background could be so utterly fascinating. |
