Recently Prunedby GeneralEComment: Interesting, strong image. I agree with Barry that this would be interesting in black and white. Perhaps just a personal quirk, but in this instance I wish you had tidied up by removing that dead leaf at the top. |

umbralby krnodilComment: What both Don and Anita said, surely. A visual poem set to music. Delicate and complex. 45 out of 48? Never mind, it's pure artistry. |

glitterby skewsmeComment: Beautiful, mesmerizing image of this bird (cormorant?) seemingly emerging from the bedrock (ok, strange way to put it) of its environment. It still carries the glitter on its back and appears to trail its wing tip across the water. It's the deep affinity of bird and water that I find to be mystical. Moving. 9. |

shadows and stripesby mitalapoComment: Terrific image. You've done so much with seemingly so little it's like a sleight of hand. The contrasts, both strong and subtle, play out like a movement in a symphony. The lighting, along with the time of day, imparts an emotional shove. A personal co-favorite of the challenge. 9. |

rock/foliageby tnunComment: Startling, affecting and beguiling. The delicacy and coloration of the foliage are enchanting. Here's the world whispering to you as you fall into sleep. The 8. |

The Industry of Soulsby ubiqueComment: What a great image, seemingly done in chalk. As I've watched it unfold, I find that it conveys more information than most of the portraits I've seen. It's a fleeting afterimage that illuminates a life's essence. One of your 8's, and a piddling rating at that. |

visionsby PennyStreetComment: Now here's a wonderful pair of rose-colored glasses, rediscovered by imagination, patiently waiting for that right person to come along. I know I didn't notice them on my several recent passes along the High Line. And as Don noted, a handsome composition.
Fine image. |

All the world is around meby Alex_PetriniComment: Lovely image, eccentric and whimsical. This clover of an old battlement, or something, of a hot air balloon is certainly aloft, physics be damned, and you're now bound on an astounding adventure. It's a wistful, beautiful fantasy. |

Strain by RKTComment: Really fine image, Rachel. Congratulations on the yellow. The title is perfect. A visceral feeling in the pit of the stomach. The "fibers" appear to be pulling apart as it tries to forestall the oncoming conflagration (my interpretation). To me it conveys courage, pathos and nobility. |
