You shot wisely, grasshopper. I'm guessing we'll have an April ribbon in September. ;-) 10

Great capture! Could use more contrast, but still one of the best for the unusual subject alone.

The coloration and lighting looks like the work of Dax. Meets the challenge nicely, but I'd prefer a bit more shadow detail on the shell. 7

Excellent exposure, focus and color. The Rule of Thirds is evident, but relatively subtle... it's not really a strong aspect of the photo, and I suspect you wouldn't use this shot to illustrate the principle. So, yes, it meets the challenge, but the rule of thirds doesn't exactly play a lead role. The girl is cute and colorful, but the disinterested expression will hold your score back because there's not enough of the face or personality showing to really engage the viewer.

A very good shot of the balloon, but the crop is way too tight IMO. It traps the balloon into place within the frame and ruins the sense of freedom nd opennness i would normally associate with ballooning. Good job holding detail in the dark fabric.

I knew you couldn't dodge the ribbons much longer... you're too darn good. Congratulations on your well-deserved blue with this perfectly executed concept!
