Luci's Loungeby ellamayComment: This is a very creative and evocative shot. Are those people walking - probably not - it's just an ordinary fire right? But you've transformed it into something special. Well done. |

Burner Artby carlacrypticComment: This is one of the most effective uses of advanced editing I've seen on this site. The image manages to convey more about the essential thermodynamics of a gas ring than it would unedited. the fluidity, colouration and textures are awesome and the flames are magical. I predict a ribbon. 10 |

Wasting time silently in the libraryby MadMountieComment: I looked at this as it loaded on my screen and my first instinct was that this was going to be good - books, silence etc.. But no people! IMHO this photo screams out for a person. Well done for the effort involved though! it's a very creative composition and I note the attention to the colour spectrum - nicely done. An 8 with a person, 6 without. |

The silence of waitingby apetrikComment: Good for a 'waiting' challenge but rather less effective for a 'silence' challenge. Creative though and an unusual and well though out composition |

A quiet placeby GoodEndComment: A city - a quiet place? Poor choice of subject to convey an idea of silence but an interesting photo. |

You Can Silence the Noise...But Never the Peopleby mamonellComment: technically a competent photo but a gun is something associated with extreme noise and thus even with mufflers, it is really difficult to appreciate any sense of silence. the flag is confusing also since it is not clear what it has to do with the idea of silence. I note the title but it does not help much. Are you saying that you could ban guns but the people would make a noise about it? In that context this is a good subject for a 'prpoganda', 'media' or 'campaigning' challenge. For silence, however, it eludes me - sorry :)) |

Snoozeby kellianComment: It's difficult for this image to communicate silence when the main subject - a hammer - is one more asociated with noise. The effect is compounded by the use of the hammer to break something. Thus not good choice of subject for challenge. Yet it is nicely composed with effective use of depth of field. |

.......by tfarrell23Comment: I'm unclear what this is and it does not communicate the idea of silence to me. Technically it is a good shot. I like the reflected plug. perhaps, given that it is Advanced editing you might have adjusted levels or done a bit of dodging in the dark areas to reveal detail there? then again they are a nice contrast to the shiny areas which are well lit (easy to get flare and highlights if you're not careful) So well done for a good shot but marked down as it does not communicate silence (to me anyway:)) 6 |

Silent Drummerby KnotdamomaComment: This feels like a hastily taken shot. I presume the graininess a consequence of a low-end camera so not fault there. Composition is main concern. I need to see more of the child to evoke more silence. The drum attracts unwarranted attention. Try getting a bit highgher and close to child's face and you will then have a nice portrait rather than a rather cluttered snapshot. |

Say nothingby deadbirdComment: I want to see her face. Image is so dark as to be quite abstract - appealing but loses out in terms of meeting the challenge. |
