I love it! Good composition, and great use of color. Very close to what I see in my mind's eye when I think of Merlin. This should get a ribbon. Congrats!

Not a bad idea, but the burning is way too obvious. Real shadow and light could have made this really good.

A very nice pose and a great composition. More tonal range and greater contrast would have made this image much better I think. One of my favorites in this challenge. Good job!

I like the contrasting colors. Not sure about the lighting though. I may be wrong, but it looks like the shadows were burned in.

In case any was wondering...
Dawn dish soap, red food coloring, and water mixed in a black plastic cereal bowl. Air blown through a straw created the bubbles. Two AlienBees B400 strobes in medium Octaboxes, one on either side, provided the light.
