Fish Out Of Waterby e301Comment: Great colors, just beautifully balanced shot. How out of place a big fish is in a small pot I don't know, but it makes a lovely photograph |

Early Riserby doberminComment: Great subject but a bit too dark. I know that its hard to get good exposure on snow of a dark object without spot editing, but a slight increase in levels, while lowering the contrast might have really helped. Never the less this is a great capture with good focus and DOF. |

Golden Gate by BrennanOBComment: Originally posted by Rasai: Yep, THe HOTTEST March ever here in the city .... but it wasn't that HOT! The more I look at this the more I wonder? You are up above the water quite a bit in this picture... Was this taken with a SUPER Telephoto, or perhaps in a low flying aircraft? My only other guess would be at the top of a VERY TALL ship? |
Ya, quite a ways away. I used a 500 mm lens to shoot in the parking lot of lawrence hall of science in the berkeley hills.
After I submited I realised that I sharpened once too often and got the ghosting on the suspension supports, live and learn.
Thanks for all the kind words and fine crits. Message edited by author 2004-03-31 00:09:43. |

Open Lightingby BibliophileComment: I like this idea but the results are not as promising as the idea. the bulb looks slightly fuzzy and for this to work it has to be sharp as glass. While I like leaving all that backround in black, I wish there was more room at the top, about as much as you left on the sides. |

It's getting hot in hereby daisy77Comment: This shot would have worked better with an orange backdrop. As it is the pants are the feature and they are just not that interesting. With an orange backround the belly would have been the focus of attention and that is well lit and pretty to look at. |

Purpleby addiBangsiComment: This shot puzzles the hell out of me. After a few moments of study I see a sepia toned image of objects I cannot recognise. evocative with nice tones but it leavs so many questions unanswered, such as, where is the orange? What is that drawing of? What are those objects? Interesting but not satisfying. |

Waiter, There's a fly in my soup!by Prof_FateComment: The central point of the shot that is the fly is out of focus, while the table cloth behind the bowl is sharp so you are a bit back focused. I'm guessing you had both filtered natural light with its blue color and incandessant light with its yellow color because the light seems to be messing with the colors, creating weird reflections that puzzle the eye. |

All the Orange in my Houseby seancgn68Comment: granted that this is a silly shot, it could have been stronger if the orange things filled the frame. A lower, tighter composition leaving out the table and most of the wall could have turned these into a cool abstract. I also find the colors a bit too saturated, so I have trouble reading the edges of some object or the writting on the cookie box. |
