The simple and elegant rose............... Nice detailing and the rich red is quite pretty. This is an effective use of negative space. Gives the rose more pow!

Oh wow!!! Talk about a close up. Good cropping and detail. This might look cool with a black background too.

This seems too blurred to me to be effective as a drop in the water shot. The red and green make a good contrast, and the idea is really good, but the stop action just didn't quite make it in my book. Hope this helps.

I wish her wings were out. The blue and black is a nice contrast. Maybe crop out some of the green and concentrate on her more. The detailing on her is good though.

I wish the colors had a bit more pop. Maybe it's the exposure. The detailing is really great. The focus is good and you didn't overdo the sharpness.

It's bug season.. and those hot summer nights. LOL

I saw this but waited to comment. I mulled it over and think it's pretty darn good. The yellow of the flower is a nice contrast to the reddish tones of the bugs. Your composition is well done and the light bouncing off of their bodies is nice.

Isn't this a pinecone?? The idea is nice, but the surrounding area is too busy and the light a tad too harsh. I with it were in better focus. It could make a nice photo if it were.

Don't be sorry. This is a fine fellow. I like that you concentrated on his upper body. As ugly as he is, he is almost architectural in his composition. The lighting skimming over his body is well done. I'd like a bit of sparkle in his eye though.

I love the rich warm colors. THe lighting is nice but overall, it doesn't have a focal point. My eye just wanders around, trying to find something to land on. Maybe it would be more effective for me if you had zoomed in on one or two of them, so we could see the details. Maybe your camera isn't equipped for that. In that case, I understand.

This has good composition but the saturation seems a bit brash to me. Maybe it's the bright sunlight and it's the exposure? I'd crop out most of the green in the background to eliminate a bit of distraction. I like the gold of his wing against the pink of the flower - that creates a nice bit of contrast.
