Pineby PennyStreetComment: Really nicely taken and processed. The fronds at the bottom are a little distracting and take away from the look of the solo tree, which is well seen and processed. One of my favorites so far. |

The Pinesby KMcCComment: Ansel-ish, but just not nearly crisp enough in the shot and processing. |

fluffby mitalapoComment: Clouds just too blown out. Ansel must have a big tripod. ;) |

One Treeby MargaretNetComment: Nicely captured and I like the processing, though the sky feels a little blown out at the horizon. It also feels like it tilts left a bit. |

Edison Portland Concrete Company, New Village, NJ - Closed 1947 by JakeKurdsjukComment: Thanks, all. When this challenge came up I knew I wouldn't be short of options. Thomas Edison spewed concrete all over the place around here, from building this factory, to laying the "Concrete Mile" to prove the surface could be used for roadways, to building a neighborhood out of cookie-cutter concrete homes. The factory is fenced in and I was debating just how much I wanted to risk trespassing on a Sunday morning, but when the sun broke through the clouds I knew I had a shot somewhere. I guess I got rewarded for carrying the stepladder around in the brush surrounding the place so I could shoot over the fence. |

It Goes To '11' (And Then Some)by JakeKurdsjukComment: Actually not a reference to a score but to Spinal Tap as was mentioned. Had I thought that it would I likely would have called it something else knowing that some might give it 1 or a 2 just to teach me a lesson (no - no one would do that!!). Don't get the "sharper focus" comment - it's pretty sharp as I see it. Perhaps more depth of field is what was meant.
I did do some focus stacking, but not on this one. Ultimately I liked the way this came out better than the others, and particularly how the focus line runs in the direction of the arrow to the number.
As for the camera, yes, it's an old Kodak Retina IIIc rangefinder I've had sitting around for a while - since my in-laws cleaned house and headed south. Never used it but it seems to be in working order. |

Atomic Tangerineby Jules1xComment: Nicely shot. The slight off-center framing makes it feel off. Perhaps a slight tilt or just go dead-center. |
