This is YOUR kind of shot...tells a story, excellently done and makes me wonder about the subject. You were robbed in this challenge. Even if it didn't ribbon it should have placed much, much higher.

What's really nice here is the almost voyeristic angle, amazing that the lights are not blown out but you can still see he features cleanly, the really nice depth of field (getting the "laundry" not too blurry while having great focus on him...and that's just the technical side. Well done.

Cool shot, but I would definitely bump the contrast some and see about maybe saturating the bettles colors a bit more as well. And I would crop in a little tighter. I hope you are not getting tired of all my suggestions. :P

I agree with the comment before mine as far as the cropping. The photo looks a little dark. I think this one is worth working a bit with contrast the levels to bring out some depth and detail in the shot. Good catch of the birds. I can never seem to get a decent bird shot.

Now in these, with her pale skin, the flash does appear pretty harsh. The poses are cute and the collage is fun.

I happen to like this one. I don't think the flash was too harsh. Not necessarily ideal, but I love the expression and smile. I think it's a nice candid shot.

Too bad the whole head wasn't in the sunshine. The whole shot looks just a little washed out to me. Maybe I'm just not used to winter colors yet :(

It's fun to play, isn't it? I also like the effect - perfect choice to do that with these lights. I'll bet it looks even better in a larger format. Cool abstract.
