Wonderful "frontier" feel to this shot, especially with the gray clouds background. I agree that possibly darkening the ground in front would be more appealing - however, if it actually is this light you may want to keep it as you have seen it. In either case, a nice shot just as it is.

Really gorgeous! I keep wanting to move up and see the top of the foreground cactus and a little less of the black bottom. Still, the colors and setting really give a relaxed, "want to be there" feel to the shot.

This shot drew my eye to it as a thumbnail. I love the natural colors and the nice lighting. I think perhaps a bit tighter crop and setting the subjects off center a bit might have given it even more appeal. I think it was a good choice for the challenge and as is, I would have given it a 6. With just a little tweaking, easily a 7.

I think this type of photo is amazing. Technically, it may need a little sharpening and contrast, but to even get this is wonderful IMO. Good for you for trying something new as well. I really like the blue tones in this one and the way you've cropped it to fill the frame.
