A Touch of Monetby waterliliesComment: This is just lovely. It will make an awesome print. The composition is very good, but I think what makes this one stand out is the lighting and the reflections. The darkness and the reflections work perfectly to draw the attention to the blooms. Nice sharp focus. |

Washington Monument Sunriseby ClubJuggleComment: I'm surprised we didn't see more DC shots! The colors here are so nice. The thing I find distracting is the water's edge line on the right coming down at an angle. Not sure if a small counter-clockwise rotation would mess everything else up or not. Still - very nice shot. |

Poised for Flightby lear202btComment: These guys are so photogenic for bugs! Very clear shot with nice colors. I might have liked it better just a little less straight on. |

Sailing At Duskby MWittComment: Wow! What a difference a sky can make. The scene in the foreground is nice, but not really out of the ordinary. However, add that sky to it and the wonderful hills in the background and you have a great combination of colors and interests here. I think I might like to see more of the water, but I'm not sure. Very nice shot! |

Fleeting Bolts of Lightningby DefyTimeComment: Interesting to see the validation on this shot, as I thought about requesting a review myself. Amazing to believe that you could capture all these strikes at once! I like the rooftops in the photo as well.
To have captured the subtle colors of the clouds as well - it has to be one of the best lightning photos I've seen. This one's a winner for sure! |

All Heaven Declares!by aaronb532Comment: Awesome, inspiring shot. I really like the drama of the sky against the serenity of the scene. The overall color scheme just works together so well without being boring. One of my favorites. |

Noisy, Hungry Sea Lionby StevePaxComment: This guy looks like he's singing! I like the composition and the cropping but I would have liked a smoother, less noisy look to the shot. I don't think the blue adds anything to it, but I'd have to see it will different options really to tell for sure.
It sure is a cute shot. |

One Last Grapeby StevePaxComment: I really like the lighting in this one. The black background works well here and I like how you've left some black space on the right side a bit. |

I'm thankful for my wifeby StevePaxComment: I do think it's nice to see just a friendly straight-on sort of portrait. All the artsy lighting and angles are fine, but yours looks like it does capture her personality. If I knew her, THIS is probably the kind of photo I'd want to have of her....not really an arty sort of one (if that makes sense.)
Technically it seems fine. It's in great focus without being oversharpened or over softened (which I think happens a lot in these kinds of shots.) Lighting is nice and diffused - although it would have been nice to see a little more light in the eyes. And I like the dof, with the blurred background. It would be interesting to see this one in color too. Nice job capturing the image of your lovely wife! |
