Thank you both for the feedback. I really love this photo and seem to do much better with B&W images.

The color version was a little busy, with a tree trunk and many branches and twigs in the backround. With the flowers being white anyways it didn't take much away from them. I felt that the B&W treatment had much more impact.

Thanks for all the helpful comments everyone! As for what kind of duck this is, I had no idea. Did a quick internet search and I think it may be a Muscovy? There were a few of them at the park. As far as a star filter, didn't use one. Was just a happy accident that I think may have been emphasized by the circular polarizer. It was the first time I had used it and really liked the results.

Great colors and wonderful composition. The only distraction for me is the round dish looking thing in the top corner. It draws my attention and makes me wonder what it is and takes away from the focus of the flowers, but that's just me :). Overall, it's a wonderful picture.
