One of my absolute favorites of the challenge. The subdued colors of everything except the child just draws the eye right to him. I enjoy photos like this the most, just wonderful moments captured in time, photos that just spill over with some sort of emotion. In this case, the sheer joy of an innocent child. This is wonderful, has a bit of a journalistic look to it. You B&W treatment is good, nice tones and contrast to it. I love the whole scene from the door frame, to the stuff in the background and especially her desheveled, sad (tired) look. Well done!

I would've had a hard time deciding between this one and the one you entered. But I think you went with the right one. This is really nice, but the one you entered had a stronger composition as the hand and knee in this one look a little forced. But I think I like the make-up and look better in this one. Hard choices for sure. :-)
