The Elements of Subject & Hopeby BradComment: Not really appealing from a subject matter perspective, but very well executed photographically. And it tells a story, I love that. I can almost envision the owners of each mailbox and hear them explaining what good news they hope the next mail delivery brings. High marks. Well done. |

penicillinby garlicComment: Third visit's the charm, I guess. I'm guessing that you left the moldy whatever out of focus on purpose to show that it's discovery was "by accident". So if that's true, then the photo tells the story correctly. I've scored it with that assumption. Technically, though, they didn't have hardcover textbooks, college ruled paper, or #2 yellow pencils in the days when penicillin was discovered - so this photo is anachonistic. |

Strange beautyby duquedebaruComment: Strange? Perhaps. Beauty? I don't know - I've revisited the photo several times but still don't get it. |

Bottoms up, Mates!by rmlutgenComment: Technically I find the photo to be rather flat and cropped ( or framed ) too tightly. Some color saturation adjustments might help. |

An Apple a Day is a Penny Earned...by dahvedComment: Technically, fairly well executed. A few suggestions on this particular setup to make it more "real": 1) the "bite" doesn't look like a bite - no teeth marks or jagged edges to it; 2) the penny is too flatly exposed and too shiny - it should be partially imbedded in the pulp and tarnished from the acid in the apple. |

Diamond(s) in the Roughby dcclossComment: Even with the title, it took me three separate viewings to make out that that was a diamond tennis bracelet in there. It looked to me like it was a patterened shoelace or something. Anyway, now that I "get it" I'll raise the score a bit. ( lighting might have been used more to highlight the sparkle in the diamonds - that might have helped ). |

A Hidden Treasureby ManikzComment: It must be my eyes, because I spent several minutes looking for it, but still can't find the hidden treasure. To me this is just a photo of some large rocks. On that basis, it's an OK photo, but still doesn't do much for me. |

Openby davidjohnhallComment: Sorry, but I can't tell what this is supposed to be, even with a title. The photo has too much contrast and grain and the left center is completely blown out. |
