Night Cabin

This is one of those images that I really like to look at and wonder how to make it better. So indulge me while I try... YOu have a great subject here with what appears to be a lonely cabin set in the middle of nowhere. I wonder if - by concentrating on just the cabin, without the shrubbery in front, turning off that light to the back of the cabin, you could make the lighted cabin a sort of welcoming beacon with the forest behind it. Obviously you were there, and I wasn't and you know the topography you had to deal with. So, I guess it boils down to this advice: Check out all the possibilities when confronted with such an exceptional opportunity as you have above.

Well exposed and good 'n sharp. I wonder what this would have looked like with just a little less in the frame. for example, concentrating on the waterfall and the structure above it (to the left). Eliminating that hot spot to the far right and removing the structures to the left which are competing for attention. I really like this image and the attention you paid to detail. I just wonder if simplifying it would make it zing...

In a way, this looks like a Mark Rothko. Lots of lovely colors in that blue with the nice red accents. May not score well overall, but I like it...
