The Littoral Zoneby Bear_MusicComment: Beautifully simple and beautifully processed. The reflection of the clouds in the open area bringing the light down into the midfield and foreground is particularly nice, I think. 8 - voted earlier |

Hell's Lakeby salmiakkiComment: What I like best about this scene are all the triangles (foreground rocks, trees on the near bank, trees and their reflection on the far bank, wedge of reflected sky) and the way they fit together so nicely. It's a little busy but still nice. 8 - voted earlier |

Lakeside Morningby CuttoothComment: Nice elements here - a great sky, interesting mountain face, and the rippling water. The water is very nice in the way the light and shadow play across it, but I wonder whether there isn't a bit too much of it . . . 8 from me - voted earlier |

No trespassing by Yo_SpiffComment: Very nice use of light in the capture and processing that maximizes it. I like the composition, too, and the title and barbed wire that work together to suggest a message. |

rock and treeby pearlseyesComment: The lone tree, the hostile environment that appears to be getting the upper hand, the brooding sky, and the wide tonal range all seem to be very Adams-like to me. One of my top 10. |

Pemaquid Pointby markwileyComment: I always enjoy Pemaquid reflected in the tidal pools - the lines and textures in those foreground rocks are just terrific. Slightly over-sharpened around the trees but very nicely done. One of my top 10. |

Mt. Index by franktheyankComment: Love the water, the mountains the sky - not as much the brush in the foreground but it's still a beautiful scene and very nicely processed imo. One of my top 10. |

Ansel of Arabia by ecmguyComment: A classic beauty - hard to beat the great lines and shadow play of dunes like these. Maybe a bit over-sharpened for my taste but terrific anyway. One of my top 10. |

Roots and Lighthouse, Point Ferminby MelethiaComment: This is not my idea of an Ansel Adams subject or composition (I am no expert and may be wrong), yet it is an image that I suspect he would have liked a lot. The light - late afternoon, maybe? - on the roots, trunk and branches of this very interesting tree is beautiful, and I am quite taken by the way you used that to frame the lighthouse and out-building. The tonal range might have been just a bit stronger but there's such nice detail even in the shadows. One of my top 10. |

Circa 1943by MinsoPhotoComment: Bravo for going the portrait route in this challenge - subject, angle of head, expression and treatment all look very Ansel-like to me. One of my top 10. |
