I'm with ubique on this.
I love this one so much - great sense of place and person and moment - and the tones are just lovely. A hearty congratulations on the very well deserved Blue. I would have loved this one in a Free Study or any challenge you could shoehorn it into, which is not always the case in these narrowly defined challenges.
It wasn't a decision not to vote - I just didn't get around to it. Now, looking at some of the entries, your included of course, I realize what I missed. The addition of "black and white" to the challenge brings an extra WOW factor, IMO.

At least you still have the picture - I'd give a lot to have it myself :)

Itoh Peonyby namComment: Very happy with my finish in this beautiful challenge and a big thank you to cutout and MaryO for the comments during voting and to everyone else for the votes. No 1's or 2's - I must have done something right :) |

Korean Dogwood by JakeKurdsjukComment: Commenting at roll-over - such a weird feeling. Lost it.
I like this and gave it an 8, but was saying I might like slightly more depth of field. I lose :) Congratulations on the Blue!

Family Portrait ~ Burrowing Owls by Ja-9Comment: Adorable. Congratulations, Janine.
(I do agree on the saturation - even if the grass is VERY green there at this time of year, I think the image would be improved by reducing and maybe darkening slightly the greens). |
