She was, in fact, very focused . . . and quite uncomfortable when, a moment or two later, she noticed me taking her picture. Soon after, she took her lunch break. |

Mixologist by LevTComment: My top pick. I wish it wasn't quite so yellow but otherwise excellent for the challenge - and what an engaging smile this young man has! |

Newborn by NobodyComment: I absolutely adore this image. Congratulations on the ribbon. If I were to offer any suggestion (for future use where it was allowed) it would be to change the color of the orange leaf to brown. That bright spot of color is distracting, and I don't feel the integrity of the scene would suffer from that alteration. |

I'm with Posthumous on this. Mine was one of the low scores. For me the spirit of "shoot from the hip" is sort of a "flawed spontaneity" and this shot's too perfect to qualify even assuming Anita was running backward, holding the camera low, and using no viewfinder. It's clearly an "intentional" shot in that sense. |
Sorry to admit that I did not vote on this challenge :( - but I would have struggled to find a "fair" score for the same reasons. The struggle would, of course, have been because it's a delightful, beautiful, fresh, capture. As such, I would not have given it below a 5 and would probably have settled on a 6; personally, that's what I do for wonderful photos that I feel don't meet the specific challenge. But I would have reserved my 7-10 scores for something else. |
