Human Life is Made up of these elements.....by GAP2012Comment: thanks everyone for comments, as per my other challenges, trying to keep my processing if at all down to the minimum with maximum effect and still retain what i wanted to express, this is me actually trying to do the impression of someone in amazement of the fact of the simple truth of what we are all made from... and yet how complex and creative we humans can be and do when we use it positively :O)
i shot this with in one go and with my new 85mm f/1.8 which has been its only outing out of its box so far, still itching to use it more... it was on self timer and different from other stuff ive done, and glad you enjoyed its subtlety throughout, thanks for that! :O) |

Going OTT!by GAP2012Comment: thanks everyone, i tried to keep this as simple and as much staight out of the camera as i could, i didnt want to photoshop anything out or even add to it even if it that was allowed, just shoot in one go and simply process as little as possible so i really appreciate the comments from everyone :O) Message edited by author 2012-12-20 21:33:46. |

I've seen how this technique is done a few times elsewhere and it is very effective, and you expertly used it here for a great photo and yes a wonderful christmas card, simple and elegant, but doesnt take away from those who used the whole family or themselves as per the challenge, congratulations nonetheless :O) and truly Merry Christmas :O) Message edited by author 2012-12-20 19:46:40. |

Starry Trekmasby giantmikeComment: Originally posted by RyanWareham: wow Gap, for all the "not meeting challenge" comments you've left so far, this one actually has a family member in it and it still doesn't meet it for you. gotta say, that's pretty harsh.
Yeah, it's not the majority of the card, but it's a family member in the card and it's the wonder of a child's imagination at play in the other scenes. What's more magical and christmas-y than a child playing with toys? |
yes it had one member of the family, and i thought it a better attempt than a lot on this challenge, just i felt the challenge was about you(the photographer) or your Family(plural) if it had said any other member of the family? and you cant see the childs wonder in his face or inquisative look... so for me yeah it didnt meet challenge like i dont think second place was worthy either compared to family ones.. i know it sounds harsh im not trying to be... |
