I really like this shot with its almost metaphysical luminescence. You certainly have a better view from your water tower than I do from the one in my town! :) Congratulations on TT placement; this should have placed higher.

I've just read the comments below and wow, didn't you ever get a co-operative little bug! I haven't tried too many of these really close macro shots of insects because I just do not have the patience and the little mongrels keep flying away on me. Oh how I wish I could capture a few this good. What flash/lighting did you use? The comments below indicate (and I agree) that it's a tiny bit harsh, but I'd keep that if it meant the difference between 'OK detail' and this much detail :) Great shot. Love the iridescent shine on both bugs.

This is excellent. I'm a fan of well done bird pics, and this is extremely well done. It's so crisp it's hard to imagine it was only an 800 shutter. Beautiful eye detail too.
