Concave Glassby newtune3Comment: Nice colors and brightness, but the hot spot outlined in green at the bottom detracts from the overall impression. This subject may be an exception to the rule of thirds - I think it would work better centered all around. |

Massive Nutby dirtkahunaComment: I like the variety of metallic textures in this shot, from the shiny corners fo the nut to the rusted surfaces on top. The DOF is great, with the whole nut in focus, and then the rapid falloff. It emphasizes the main subject well. |

Girl at the Seashoreby coolharComment: Sorry I missed this the first time around. It really does convey the feeling of joy one can have even when all alone - or maybe especially when all alone. By including so much of the shoreline, you convey that feeling of aloneness and the sense of freedom that goes with it. |

Pencilby tomlewis1980Comment: To me, one of the most attractive features on a pencil is the joint of painted wood and shaved wood to make the point. Backing off just a little bit would have brought out that contrast of materials and added a lot to your picture, even if it was a bit less macro. |

Upside Downby arnitComment: A good macro photo can make you look at familiar objects in a new way, and you have done that very well. The wood grain texture, the shiny gold - who would have thunk there was so much visual interest in a common pencil. |
