Killer Allergiesby becky-leeComment: Cute idea, nicely executed. I think you could have cropped a lot from the top without losing anything. This would focus attention more on the main subject. |

Hardwick Hall from the Herb Gardenby MarstonComment: A lovely photo - I wish I could see it all at once. My monitor, even set on full screen, does not allow me to see this picture without scrolling. I can imagine, but not see, how it all fits together. I can see the top of Hardwick Hall without the herb garden, or I can see the garden and the first two stories of Hardwick Hall.
That's always a tradeoff in vertical shots - a good size versus the inability of many monitors to take in the whole shot at once.
Sorry about the rant, it won't affect the score, but I've been finding it frustrating when pictures that clearly should be seen as a whole are too big to fit the screen. |

Waiting for the perfect pitchby BethieBComment: If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I always find the fences frustrating when shooting sports - so it's great to see them used to meet a challenge and enhance the picture. |

take this shotby TJComment: You've got the classic frame for choosing a shot and a lens turned inside out. Cute idea, cute model, great picture. |

Room with a View by owenComment: Pretty sunset, and the figure gives the whole picture scale - both the frame and the enclosed seascape. |

on closer examinationby oe8ydqComment: I like the picture, but the "frame" doesn't cover much of it. I think a close crop around the magnifying glass would frame the picture, rather than having the picture frame the glass. |

Princess in the Castleby ZILAComment: Very cute picture. I would have liked to have seen it as a whole, but my monitor won't hold the whole picture. I had to scroll through it. That's always a tradeoff in vertical shots - a good size versus the inability of many monitors to take in the whole shot at once.
No points off for the message - but isn't there something sexist about not mentioning the prince? |
