we the living by Ayn Randby jmritzComment: I did not read this book but know that it is mightily anticommunist and quasi autobiographical.
Therefore, I really cannot make any comment on the suitability of your shot. There is not much to inform me here of the book.
As a free standing photo I find the point of view interesting, the man's expression quite absorbing and an interesting battle of shapes in the background. I would crop a lot from the upper part.

Wuthering Heights, a dark and ugly placeby AmmieComment: A very clean picture of a house that has some charm though. Or let's say some potential! I never imagined the one in the novel like this; this one strikes me as very American and I don't see the gnarled branches that were so important in the novel.
The hues are lovely

The House of the Seven Gablesby vawendyComment: A likable shot taken probably in a historic place where they have reenactments - everything is working here but there is not much connection with the novel. I wished for some witchcraft, some odd things... some guilt ... a gable ...
If you staged this, it's quite good - there are a few details here and there to die for - the woman's blouse, the rotten apple or quince, whatever it is it's so nice. I do not like in the least the thin lines that delineate the image - just the dark maroon would have been great to let everything float.
I give it a 6 though - but if you staged all this, I regret not having marked it higher |

Brave New World - Aldous Huxleyby DamonComment: I am not persuaded that this lovely image is suited for Huxley's brave world. It's a gorgeous place that looks somehow like a Flemish or Dutch painting.

Marathon Manby markwileyComment: Is this a classic? I don't think so but never mind this.
(I do like a lot that for this challenge I have to look up books and authors.)
I did not read the book, just the synopsis and it's considered a "conspiracy thriller" in which the marathon itself seems not to play such an important role as in your shot.
It's an engaging picture and I can see some foul play here - perhaps a wee too saturated but a good shot

Black Beautyby jomariComment: Quite straightforward isn't it?
Did you try it in B&W? The tonality of the background is not decisive or interesting enough

Flowers for Algernonby flahermaComment: Now I really do have to read the novel! I read about it in the past and now I need to fully understand the meaning of your your image. I like the ominous look of the scissors.
I am a bit puzzled by the choice of leaving so much dark space on the right of the image and I try to understand it through the fact that I knew about the publishers' urge for a change of the ending. You leave some breathing space.
A crisp image that I would have probably marked 6 but in the context of this challenge it's more like a 7.
My criticism is that somehow it looks a bit like a stock image with a twist. The tonality is wonderful.

The Sun Also Risesby chaliceComment: This picture might be a good illustration for the meaning of Hemingway's title originated from Ecclesiates
The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises
but it feel like a good sunset/sunrise shoehorned for this challenge. Yes, another good sunset.

I came back to this image because of its painterly qualities. It does not fit the novel but there is some of Turner, some of the Dutch masters in it...

Esperanza Corderoby odriewComment: I never heard about this book, is it a classic?
The image reminds me of odriew way of treating a subject. Gentle, calm and filled with emotion, a little formulaic but mostly sincere. It is lovely and has a great deal of peaceful sadness. If this is the case, you certainly achieved to communicate it.
