Octoberby flahermaComment: I believe that I have seen this gentleman before in B&W (extravagant!) - or is it only a dream? Am not too fond of the overlay but this man has a lot of power and I like that he salutes the waves. It can make a great book cover |

IMG_3527by GeorgesBogaertComment: I find this extremely interesting. You captured a spirit of the place, an extraordinary array of physiognomies, a rich color palette.
To make it more "painterly" I would have trimmed some of the upper part and the smiling girl on the left for a dynamic composition. |

Rainy Night by GeorgesBogaertComment: I find your original much more interesting. The "Van Gogh" effect seems to me very superficial comparing to his work.
All the cups and t-shirts and umbrellas, cut ears and such with printed work of van Gogh's magnificent work are enough in my opinion.
You got a good share of appreciative comments so I might be totally wrong in assuming that my voice represents much but since we are a group of people interested in photography I share my idea.
I marked this with 6 for the effort.

_DSF3687_colourby daisydavidComment: What a dance around Shakespeare! Most enjoyable this reenactment of yours John.
Finally, a collection of wedding images (well, pre wedding) that I love.
If it's one subject in photography that I dislike profoundly it is the wedding one. You managed to keep me interested and highly amused.
The one thing that I would change is the font of the quotes.
Goodness, it is as if you photographed a play of the master! Bravo! |

Where the Water Runs Slowby instepsComment: You nailed the sadness of a place so far away and so forgotten that even the water runs slow there.
There is sweetness there though; a man encounters a dog (or is it his?), a heron looks in the distant darkness, two fish made peace with their fate and the man from his car sees it all, beauty and neglect, present and past.
Another great addition to your Taiwanese soft murmuring. |

Canal 1by rooumComment: I add a bit of my thoughts also for what's worth.
Your essay is quite shattering and the more you delve into it the more powerful it gets. It is primarily a poem though.
For me it's hard to read both words and images probably because of the layout of the pages. I go for either words or images and do two readings.
I find here the words more important than the evoked images; but that's not entirely true because the last pages are just as needed. Perhaps I just object to the font. Ah, little nitpicking, insignificant details.
It feels like a cry in the desert. But such is memory.
Or, as someone said: "The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there"

gale by flahermaComment: This is so much in the spirit of the German Romantic school of paintings. I love it for more reasons though; for its mystery, for the omens, for the gentleness and for its menacing feel |
