Shoe shine Davidby Yo_SpiffComment: Well, the "Rogain" picture is very funny but my complete favorite is this one. It's the lack of hope that is haunting. The opposite of "tomorrow will be another day" - for him it seems that tomorrow will be just the same day like today and yesterday and the hope in his limpid eyes is for something higher. Forgive my rambling, but for me the implied story is one of the greatest quality of a photograph or any piece of art for that matter. Theaches us to search deeper. Thanks for a splendid portrait. I add it to my favorites |

The Endby NeilComment: This portrait has so much sweetness that one wishes to know more about this man. Imprisoned in his cell, imprisoned still in his body - the shadows on the floor come from a rather homey window - great effect. The table set rather neatly makes one feel better though. He has the expression of someone who still has stories to tell.
Where did you take the photo?
Thanks for a great image. |

Feb 11, 2011by TrollManComment: This is Hansel and Gretel's house! No, Sleeping Beauty's! Absolutely enchanting! I imagine the dark nights with (hopefully) distant howlings interrupted by some whooshing of falling snow from the laden branches!

Prominenceby spiritualspatulaComment: Is this for real? Hope it won't be affected by the warming stuff. Wow, so nice to look at it form the coziness of my studio! Thanks! |

My life as a dogby JudiComment: The sweetest thing one could imagine! A beautiful photo although for this challenge I imagined a more daring approach. Nevertheless, after all the horror movies ...8 |

Behind the Red Doorby gminkComment: I liked the picture in spite of the lack of sharpness (needs probably more contrast and/or definition) and went to get some info about the movie. When I read "troubling secrets from the past and the present" I was put off since your image has to do more with repressive feeling rather than bringing forth anything. |

On Golden Pondby tmhallingComment: As much as we suffer from saturation of sunsets, this one seems to work for the title although it's more athletic. |
