Hmm, looks like a portrait of a strong man, at least on my screen. Good powerful gaze but the grain twists the nose into a funny shape from the eyelashes eyebrows down. So, grain wins and the beauty of the picture fades.

Nice idea. But there is something not working. Perhaps too many borders. They take the shot into an album composition. I would have been happy just with the extreme righht shot on the middle.

I keep looking at this John. I seldom touch 10 before really looking long and hard, as if marks are of any good. It was instant applause. Now, did you just stumble upon this? I love when you get out a bit of the "cataract look" - cataract as in the eye problem.

Metamorphosis Incomplete

You left me speechless here. Which is usually a good sign. I see no use of it as a photo BUT it's important as a document. Yes, the document of the incomplete metamorphosis! (and an exercise in expert editing)
The expression of the man is wonderful, especially the one in the background. The metamorphosis did not take away his poise. It's the surprised look that we have at ourselves when we grow old.
