Nice camouflage mr. Frog. I can see you pretty clearly in the thumbnail but when you open it up you almost disappear, sweet! I love this shot, the composition is well done, you have the branches leading you in and taking you right through the sot, the frog blending in so well, fits the challenge, the lighting is also well done, just right to bring out the colors of the needles and such. The DOF is wonderful, the front not grabbing my attention. Bravo on a very well done entry! A 10!

OMG, is she standing in that tree? WOW! That is a brave Apple Lady! LOL :)

She does almost blend in despite the colors of her clothes and normally I would say this image looks really flat and dull for the colors but in this case it works out wonderfully for the challenge and the purpose of the photo.

I like the overall shot but the centering of the apple lady seems off to me, the whole left side of the picture really serves no purpose in my mind and you could crop it tighter on that side, bringing the edge up to the basket, leaving her with the larger amount of apples on the right. The light does seem a bit dull and to me, could be brought up just a touch, very little but just a tiny touch. As is a 7

Wow, remind me never to you get mad at me, LOL!

Nice shot (no pun intended) and good concept on the idea. But do SWAT people wear camouflage? I always seem to remember them in all black for some reason unless of course you're in the military then you wear the camouflage.

Anyhoo, back to the picture, I like the way the barrel of the firearm brings you into the shot, taking you to the person behind the firearm. The DOF is okay on this bt I don't really see anyone part that is really super sharp compared to the rest. The sight would have been the perfect part, to me, to have in focus. The lighting is well done and the colors work very well also. A 7

talk about your camouflage! I can't see them at all! This is a very nice shot and has great potential. The lighting and the colors are wonderful overall but it's lacking that final POW factor that would push it over the top. I'm a new convert to the glow technique using the gaussian blur filter to give a shot that fantasy look. I think this shot would really benifit from that treatment, especially with the title you are attaching to it. As is a 6

Oh, there he is! Nice shot! The way he blends in fits very well into the challenge. I like the idea/concept of the shot but the over all composition leaves me a bit wanting. It's very centered and everything but the dark line between the first row of bushes and the second one keeps competing and drawing me away. Also the colors seem a bit flat and dull overall. The lighting is nice for the shot, maybe just a slight adjustment to the color balance or saturation to bring out the colors more? As is a 6

Greetings from the Critique Club!

I hit that button and what do I get but a nico_blue original picture! WOW! :)

First off, let me say that anything I say here is strictly my opinion and based on my tastes. I'm not a professional critiquer nor do I play one on TV.

I love the composition of this shot. Instead of leading left to right you did the opposite and went right to left, which is perfect fine and works very well for this shot. The tracks leading me in and taking me right to EEK! THE DEAD END! Perfect!

Then we move on to the lighting of the shot. Very bright and looks very alive and vibrant from the lighting that came through in the post processing. I noticed that one of the comments said it looks like the trees are on fire, the color, the brightness. And it does but at the same time that bothers me just a bit. It's hard for me to look at it for very long because it is so bright. Almost need to find my shades so I can stare at it longer. And I want to stare at it longer because of the color and the compostion and the life that just screams out from this picture. Maybe if it was a larger size and not so in one little space it would be easier to look at for longer periods.

Well, I hope my comments help and Good luck in future challenges, yeah, like you need luck! You're too talented! :)

Where did she go? I can see you! Great idea and I bet you had a lot of fun shooting this one! But then again her eyes look a little sleepy in there, hope she got a great reward for letting you bury her!

The idea is a great one, been done before no doubt but still a nice overall execution of the idea. My biggest problem is the lack of focus through out the shot. Maybe if you had used DOF to bring in the front and have her as a part of the background? So you really had to search for her type thing. The composition also leaves me wanting just a tad, the doll head in the lower right corner keeps competing for my attention in a bad way, to bright and noisy overall. The grain would probably work with this shot if it was black and white but with the oranges that are showing up it detracts it from the shot for me personally. A 5

George? IS that you? Just kidding! Great shot, fantastic lighting and the eyes are very expressive. The only thing I can really nit pick you on is the focus, would have preferred to seen it on the closer eye and not the bridge of the nose. But other wise I have nothing to complain about so you get a 9!

I see a bug, couldn't tell you if it was a wasp or a moth, I do see the eggs though! :)

An interesting shot overall but the post processing left some harsh lines around the edges an the body of the insect looks, I'm not sure how to describe it, very compressed I would say. Not very natural, almost like a plastic body with a regular head and wings. The focus of the shot seems more on the leaf than the bug and maybe it was tried to correct during post editing, I have no idea. But a nice capture overall, nice composition. A 5
