Revealing my inner drive.by sleekrComment: Another harddrive and yet still different from the others. I mentioned on one of the others that despite the number of shots showing harddrives this challenge the fact that they are all being done differently so I haven't gotten tired of seeing them! The only thing I find amazing about all these shots is the cleanliness of all the drives, LOL! I've seen the inside of my computer, it's a dust bunny haven!
As for this shot, I like the coloring on this one, the red hues really highlight some of the services and the lines help draw you gaze across the entire picture. My only problem is that some of the shot appears fuzzy right next to something that is very clear, like the arm, the drum or whatever is directly above is seems slightly out of focus as does the drum like surface below it, but again, it adds to the shot, keeps drawing your eye around the entire shot. I'm starting this one at a 7 but I will be back. |

Inside my video tapeby heidaComment: This made me think of the old reel to reel tapes that my grandfather used to send to us when I was little! Excellent cropping, the perfect circle would have hurt this shot for me, though I would have liked to see the complete squares on the top and bottom left. The angle works well also for me, the way it fades away and goes just out of focus works very well and the lighting, the way it almost cuts the reel in half is wonderful. I'm starting this at an 8 but will be back. |

The gratuitous cat shotby jab119Comment: And what a cutie he/she is! Mine do the same thing, hide in the basket and then you wonder why it's so heavy when you pick it up! :)
As for the shot, at first it threw me, not exactly sure why, maybe the way the clothes are wrapped around the cat and kinda wirl around in the shot. If you could have gotten the cat to look directly at you the shot would be close to perfect but again, I know how difficult that can be! Also if the cat wasn't quite so centered I would like it more, a little bit more cropping on the right side, then you wouldn't lose the wirl and flow of the shot. I'm starting with a 6 on this one but will be back to look at it again. |

Over-exposedby TrinchComment: Ah, the second 35mm film shot I've seen in this challenge. I don't know if you've see the other one but I like the concept of this, especially considering the site it's on. The clarity of the shot is wanting a bit and the film cannister is just enough out of focus to be distracting. A black background would have worked a bit better to me but then you wouldn't have gotten the shadows, maybe a yellow one, something a little bit less harsh though judging from your title that is what you might have been going for. I'm starting this one at a 6 but will be back to look at it again. |

Motherboardby tfaustComment: A good concept, the inside of the computer but there is really nothing about this shot overall that really grabs me and hold my attention too long. The cropping is well done, the lines of the shot help draw you across the picture and the colors are very bright but tow things seem off to me, one, the lack of dust but then again it could be a brand new machine and the upper right corner, if you had cropped just a tad tigher there I would have started at a higher score. I'm starting at a 6 but I will be back to study it some more. |

baby teethby grigrigirlComment: YEAH!! What a happy baby! So sweet! I had this same idea too but my son would NOT co-operate! He loves to smile but it's a cheezy type when he sees the camera.
As for this shot, the black and white work very well for this shot, the top of the head seems just a tad bright and glares a bit on my screen but the overall lighting is very well done, I love the shadow that falls across the face and hand. I'm starting this shot at an 8 and will be back to admire some more! |

Pomegranate - Punica Granatumby JC_HomolaComment: I love Pomegranates! Tell me this didn't go to waste after you got done shooting! LOL! The concept is wonderful, the colors are vibrants and rich, the black background really sets off the reds. The cropping leaves me a bit off though, if you could have included the entire bottom half and it also seems just a tad sharp in some areas but the DOF is off on the upper left of the top curve. I'm starting this one at an 8 but will be back to drool............er, study some more ;) |

The Emperor has no clothes ( Chewing Gum?)by jmritzComment: I was thinking of an idea like this but I was going to have my daughter chew it and then take a shot of it in her mouth but then I thought, "That is rather gross!" I like your concept much better. The clarity and colors in this shot are as close to perfect as you could ask. My only thing is the light. It looks like it's coming from the right of the shot, causing the one wrapper to be very bright but shadowing the other one. More even lighting on this shot would have score a 10 right off the bat, I'm starting with an 8 and will be back to look again! |

Secret Keyboard Revealed...by jas0420Comment: When I first saw this in the thumbnail shots I thought for sure it was a reversed image or a mirrored image but now that I can see it closer I see it's a hand held computer! YIKES, my big ole' fingers would never make it on that keyboard, LOL!
I love this shot overall, the cropping, the angle, it takes you from one side to the other while taking you from bottom to top or reverse. The background is a bit off to me, I'm not sure what I would suggest, maybe more white or even black against the silver to really make it pop out? I'm starting with a 9, will be back to look some more. |
