Morning conversationsby MelethiaComment: Congratulations on 11th place Deb, and a great score too. I really liked your other image so much, I gave you the wrong advice! I'm glad you didn't listen! It's a very beautiful image, and the reeds add so much depth. Nice work! |

Passing Fancyby violinist123Comment: I really like this shot. I am surprised (well not really) that it ended up so low. DPCers don't like blurry shots for the most part--but I do!
Nicely done. |

curious.jpgby LuguerComment: I like the colors of this; it's very striking. The striking colors and unusual layout/interest of the subjects makes it look like a digital composite. I don't know if it is, given the lack of photographers comments. Overall, the aesthetics are good, though one of the birds in the air is clipped a bit, and the balance is a bit left-heavy.
I'd say it comes across as a bit surreal. That's a good thing if that's what you were going for! |

GRENADA-180607-003-DPC.jpgby jblaylockraynerComment: I'm a big fan of many of your shots Jay. This one has nice clouds and a good angular comp, and great color. However, the pattern and angles aren't strong enough to make it abstract, and there's not really enough of a tangible subject of interest to make the shot.
I'm not really sure what you saw in the scene. Perhaps you were going for a sexual symbolism shot? I can see it, but it's a stretch with this composition.
To me, perhaps with more building, the shot would become more interesting. But I understand if you had another subject in mind. |
