Brassworks by bassboneComment: I own a single Yamaha compensating euphonium and a single Benge trombone. And even when I was playing semi-professionally (many, many years ago) I barely could find room in my home for them! I can't even imagine what your storage and display scenario must look like. :-D
But seriously, you've got a lovely knack for photographing these and other instruments attractively. It's surprisingly difficult to get right, and you have a signature touch with it. |

Good question. I'm not sure I have a great answer. I did have the benefit of the distressed windshield to help me in making some adjustments to obscure the background details of the building in front of the vehicle. And I do remember trying a few things with the driver-side window, but I was never quite satisfied with the result. I think the building was just too close that I couldn't find a convincing edit that didn't look "fake" in my butterfingers. In retrospect, the way I think I would have preferred to try capturing this would have been to get more distance from the subject and shoot at it with a zoom lens; that might have helped create some bokeh out that window. Of course, that might have also caused me to lose some detail in the frame of the rear window. I'm still learning a lot about DOF in these sorts of compositions! :-P |

DLR by toutoungiComment: I'll never, ever get tired of seeing well-executed urban sunsets like this. Outstanding work. |

Sweat Bee by VitaminBComment: Super impressed with this one. The level of macro detail is awesome, of course, but I think what really elevates it for me is actually the complementary shades of green and pink here. It gives this a tonal softness that pairs well with the "pointed" elements. |

Echoes of the City by markwileyComment: I know cityscapes like this are somewhat cliche as reflections, but the sheer majesty of execution here is undeniable. |

Exit Stage Leftby glad2badadComment: My personal favorite this challenge. This is the kind of minimalist sighting that creates a mood where others might only see twigs. |

Into The Shadowsby RefocusedComment: Simply exquisite photography in my book. Personally, I'm a fan of the sun as it is, but that may be because it works in tandem with the color grading to convey a sense of late summer heat. |
