Let me guess...a midwestern botanical garden? I like the composition, but the snow makes it too grainy for my liking.

Maybe it's only because I'm a musician myself, but for the purposes of this shot, I would really have elected to use an instrument without those hideous colored practice tape markings. They're sooooo distracting to me. But again, maybe it's becaue I'm a musician. Some creative cloning might be able to remove them from even this shot, which, overall, is a very solid 7 for me.

Just feels too dark to me. It leaves me unpersuaded by anything in the shot.

The lighting is too, too bright on this one. It needs some color saturation and darkening, to my taste.

This might have been what you were going for, but I find the graininess of the skin on the face and the shadows there a bit unflattering. You might consider a softer focur or a diffused glow to help correct this.

I would find the framing more convincing if you cropped just a little higher on the bottom edge to remove that distracting green tuft down there. Overall, though, very nice.

I love the food at Casa Rio--one of my fav's on the Riverwalk. This shot is very festive and appealing to me, but the blurriness in certain places (e.g., the people on the boats, seated at tables in lower left, and lights on the water under the bridge) weakens this shot considerably, in my humble opinion. My camera doesn't allow me to manually adjust shutter speeds, but I would have tried this on a tripod with a much quicker speed to try and minimize blurs. Overall, I offer a 6.

One of the most striking bird photos I've seen on this site, in my humble opinion. My only complaint is the blurred foreground twigs...which I find very distracting. Not sure what could be done about those, though. I offer a 9.

Either this shot was very creatively lit, or the guy on the bicycle was shot in a studio and then layered against this landscape. One way or the other, I find the incredibility of the lighting distracting...or maybe it's my overworked mind. I would love to see the guy against a pure white backdrop, in the exact same position.
