Returned to see how this one did...unfortunately poorly with the voters as I feared it might. 'Tis a shame, since in my reckoning this is actually a very well-executed piece of digital art (which, admittedly, is different from strict photography per se, but which is also part of what separates DIGITAL photography as an artform away from traditional photography, at least in my opinion).

I wouldn't take this low placement as representative of the overall artistic quality of this image. I have a very similar artistically abstract interpretation of another current challenge that is faring very badly with the voters, too. Now that the challenge is over and you can take some more advanced editing tools to this piece, you might consider experimenting with it some more, too.

This is a nice composition, but not an illustration of the sort of panning described in this challenge. Otherwise, the subjects would be in focus (or at least relatively in focus) while the background would be blurred.
