Composition: Yours is a perfectly balanced and composed shot. I only wish everyone had thought about the fact that you could not repose your subjects and probably had a limited amount of frames to capture them in.

Technical: In some parts of the world the sky really is that blue, and if you used a polarizing filter you had it set just right. When I look at the feathers on their chest it looks as though you might have softened them with Neatimage or the noise filter in Photoshop, and then brought the picture back with unsharpmask. None the less it turned out very nice.

Challenge: It is composed just a small amount more centered that most voters would have liked, but the challenge doesn't say, "how much out of center it had to be" so it meets their requirements just fine.

Suggestions: I would have liked to see some information about the picture, your conditions, and possible problems that you might have encountered while making the picture. You have done a fine job with this picture and I thank you for sharing it with the DPC crowd.

You have contributed many wonderful pictures and through them I consider you a statesman, and look forward to seeing more of your beautiful country.

By the way I gave it a 9.

The shadow on the house is somewhat expected but I think the one in the street should be cropped out. 6

The model is a ten but there is too much shadow on her front side. I think for a cover and the setting she should be well lit. 8

I send a thank you to every one that took the time to make comments on this shot. To get it I made an extension for my tripod that would position my camers over the rack. I had my son (his table) break and I would snap the shutter. After many times this is what we got. His table is green and my poor lighting caused it to come out blue. We had some very harsh light coming from a window and after I got it blocked out I had a low light condition.
With your suggestions I plan to go back and do some more.
Thanks again,
Dick

Composition: A very unusual angle on the instrument, with the leading lines developed by the strings taking the viewer to the origination of sound. Well thought out and executed.

Technical: This picture proves that you have complete control of your equipment. Focus, exposure, and post processing are all right on.

Challenge: NO guesswork is needed here, and it is a sweet sound at that.

Suggestions: I feel that you have cropped it a little too close at the top, and that the extra portion you have given to the body of the violin, makes your picture a bit heavy on the bottom. The deep shadows where the strings attach are distracting to me and I would have liked to see more detail in that area. Both of these are nit-picky on my part and are only minute imperfections. Overall you have done quite a nice job.

Composition: Your shot appears to be well composed to me, even though you stretched some basic rules. You made this picture in a narrow portrait aspect rather than the traditional landscape mode. It works for you and you have a nice result. If you would have been able to I think it would have presented itself better if both the airplane and the steeple had not been centered, probable the steeple more to the left third of the frame.

Technical: The color, focus, and exposure all are fine to me. You have not over processed the image in your editing program, which is difficult to avoid in a low light picture.

Challenge: After seeing the results of the challenge this is the part that really hurt you. It looks like folks were really looking for the down home type of photography, but there is nothing that says your picture is not homey.

Suggestions: I have no suggestions to add to the ones I have already given. Yours is a good picture, with several different stories that the viewer might think up while looking at it. Keep up the good work.
