Wanted: Sole Mateby mcraelComment: Cute title, nice fresh image. Contrast is excellent, as is focus. Lighting is good in general but it takes away from the solitude/loneliness aspect for me - I'm not getting either of those feelings from the photo. Composition is good, not sure if a different pose might help convey the 'all alone'-ness even deeper or not. I do find that bit of string a distractant since everything else is pristine - really stands out. 7 |

Lone walk at sunsetby GinaRothfelsComment: Nice contrast with the sun and shade. I like the perspective, but I wish the shot was zoomed out more, to give a better feeling of space and alone-ness. I like the lighting, helps add interest to the shot, gives a pseudo-silhouette appeal as well. I wish the focus was a little sharper on the walker. Nice image overall. 6 |

Emptyby groganComment: Lovely landscape. Good focus, nice composition - I do wish the car was further along the road, I think the more distance between the car and the photographer would help enhance the alone feeling. The colors are nice, especially the sky. I wish it wasn't quite so cloudy so some of the ground color could get through, but its darkness is a nice foil for the blue. Good solid image. 7 |

Solitaire IS Solitudeby tommy_tComment: I like the symbolism in this shot - I can see it easily being played by a lonely or bored person. The lighting is good as is the focus. Fits the challenge well, but overall my interest isn't kept by the image. Works on most levels though. 6 |

Alone in the woodby jonwamComment: Heh, I like the juxtoposition of this image. Very unexpected. Shame on whoever put it there too, unless it was set out for the shot. ;) Great color differences, I like the lighting. Nice photo. 7 |

Doesn't Anyone Want Meby DoorskidderComment: Aww poor little guy. Very cute image, he has sad eyes. Love the black & white, lighting is good. Would prefer the focus to be on the kitten with the words having the soft blur rather than as is. Over all an great photo. 8 |

Sighby BlurryComment: Beautiful image. Has a sadness yet is very peaceful as well. Lighting is harsh in back but I think it works for this image, model has a nice soft glow to her. I like the composition, would prefer the white thing in the right side to be cropped out - not sure if I like the clothes in the window either, adds some interest but also draws my attention away from the subject. Excellent focus. Simply wonderful. 10 |

The Sentinelby TerryGeeComment: Man, this bird has an evil eye on it. The colors are nice, at first I thought that was ocean but now it looks like clouds. Very nice. The focus on the bird and rock are great, the pale lighting dulls the photo a little bit, but not negatively. Good job. 7 |

Missing Pacoby DebN2003Comment: Nice evocative photo. Black & white really draws the emotion out with its starkness. Use of natural light is great, love the focus, nice and clear. Only real distracting thing I find is the horizon is tilted so the patch of light sky pulls my eyes away a bit. Very nice over all though! 7 |

The Waveby bobgaitherComment: Beautiful photo, the colors are crisp and clear. Focus is great, I love the feel of the image, a nice energy but still rather peaceful. I don't get a feeling of solitude or loneliness though, so it only fits the challenge generally for me. Still its a gorgeous image. 8 |
