Wow, what a dramatic backdrop. I love the clouds and the mountains rising up gently. The deep landscape really brings for the feeling of alone and solitude, though the child is a bit soft focused - would rather the focus was much sharper on him/her. Nice use of sepia, though I'm wondering if it would be better as a b&w. Use of natural light is good as well. Nice job. 7

Wow, don't envy him that job. Great use of space, the deep landscape really gives a feeling of solitude. The perspective is great because it makes the subject look even smaller. Nice rich green, wish the background colors weren't quite so washed out though. Still a great image. 7

I like the image, it has a nice story to it. Love the clarity and focus, lighting is good. Nice use of black and white. I'm not sure that I get a feeling of solitude or loneliness - though I do think it fits the challenge in general. A very nice image. 7

Good emotional impact, subject helps with that. Lighting is pretty good, would like the focus to be a bit sharper. Definite loneliness feeling to the image (not sure if that is solely from the image itself though - I think the title has an impact on that too). A nice sound photo. 6

A nice silhouette! I like the use of light, and the single pole fits the challenge well. The vastness of the ocean helps extend the feeling of solitude. I do wish there were richer colors. Over all a very solid image. Well done. 6

Wonderful image! I love the detail and focus. Lighting is great. Use of b&w is perfect. Has a definite feeling of solitude and loneliness. I even like how the bird in the forefront looks to be different from the ones in the background - gives it that extra bit of separation. A very well done image. 10

A nice image, I like the distinction not only in size, but generally in shape and color - frosted vs. not. I think that would hold true better if the very right piece wasn't a pawn. So that this forward one would be completely different in every way. I like the reflection of the other pieces in the clear pawn - its almost as if it is seeing the others grouped and realizing its alone. I wish there was a way to lighten the whole image up though. The low lighting gives a nice effect for the frosted pieces but I'd like the overall darkness to lighten up just a bit. Nice image. 6

Heh, what a cute image. Looks like one of the buildings has fallen down which I find distracting. Focus is pretty good, the low lighting works, but I wish the image was brighter - I think a fair amount of detail is lost. I like the perspective, the expanse of castle behind the lego man helps give the impression of alone and solitude. Fun interpretation. 6

Excellent detail on the subject. Very crisp and clear. The background color is nice, though the green thing is a distraction (even though its blurred out). Fits the challenge in general, and I get an abstract feeling of solitude - mainly because I know many don't like snakes so that would lead to its exclusion. Lighting is great. A solid image. 7

Good focus, use of natural light is good - just a shade too harsh on the white, but doesn't detract really. Nice detail with the feathers, I wish the bird wasn't smack dab in the center of the photo though. The murky look of the water is an excellent foil for the pristine white of the feathers. Would've cropped a little bit more on ther ight so there wasn't that other bird or rock edging in. I'm not really getting a feeling of solitude or loneliness from the image, though it does fit the challenge generally. A nice image. 6
