Nice warm tones. I like the composition - the empty chair helps support the lone diner theme. The low lighting boosts the mood as well. Good focus, though part of the napkin seems a bit soft - would rather that was completely sharp. A great image. 7

Good capture! The whole composition fits so well together. Of course the glare of light is distracting, but the shape of the shadow is well defined and fits the challenge perfectly. A very nice photo. 6

Ok.. I give up.. I don't get it :( I'm not seeing the shadow aspect here, I don't really understand what I am looking at to be honest. Seems like a blurred piece of paper being held up by something. I'm sure my perception is probably very skewed and I'm missing a very simple element but there it is all the same. 3

This is a nice autumn photo, I like the color and clarity - great focus. There are shadows in the piece, so it fits the challenge, but it doesn't seem like the shadows are the focus of the image. A different interpretation I guess. Lighting is great. Good interest from all the different items shown. 7

Who Knows

Very cute child, nice lighting to capture the tonal ranges in her skin. Focus on her expressive face is good. A nice snapshot of a child, but.. I don't see the connection to the challenge unfortunately. She doesn't seem alone as evidenced by all the people around so that takes away a lonely or solitude element as well. I think this would've done well in a different challenge, as it is an appealing photo, I just don't see how it fits. 5

Interesting photo. The perspective is good, as is the lighting. Pose of the subject really hints at an inner pain. Can easily infer loneliness from his posture - I like the addition of the phone, adds a bit of depth to the image, as if he learned something horrible from a call or is waiting on someone to call who never will. Gets the imagination going. Great image. 7

Wow! Great photo. I love the contrast and color. Very much like the star action. Good use of light. The perspective is great. Lighthouses in general have a lonely feel to them but this one possibly because of the coloring seems very strong and stable - not so much a lonely feel. Vaguely solitary though, fits the challenge all the same. Nice photo with a good impact. 8
